Meaning of ANAN

There are two professional accountancy associations in Nigeria and ANAN is one of them. ANAN is the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria. ANAN has regulatory authority in Nigeria. ANAN was founded in January 1979, its capital is in Abuja and the president is Prof Benjamin Chuka Osisioma, FCNA.

What is MCPD by ANAN?

MCPD is the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme. In pursuant to Rule 14(J) of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria rules 1995, ANAN hereby invites you to attend the MCPD. The Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programme is scheduled to hold in six zones across Nigeria.

About MCPD

The MPCD platform is designed to enable members access trainings, conference materials, seminar materials, textbooks, journals, articles, video lectures, practical step by step method to solving accounting problems and other contemporary issues. The Mandatory Continuing Professional Development programme will provide information on current development in the accountancy profession remotely, irrespective of where members are located in the country or in other countries.

Technology underpins the unprecedented development experienced by Organizations and Professional associations across the globe in this era which is now called the era of Digital Darwinism. MCPD is one of the measures ANAN has put in place to ensure the versatility of members in accounting practice locally and worldwide.

ANAN Induction Requirements

The following are what you need to become a member of the Association of National Accountants in Nigeria:

1. Completed Membership Application Form with Certificate of Sponsors
2. Passport photograph in which candidates must be corporately dressed
3. Attestation letter from the employer
4. Letter of appointment/ Letter of last promotion
5. B.sc/ HND certificate or statement of result
6. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption
7. NCA statement of result
8. NCA Conversion result (If applicable)
9. A-I-T Workshop Certificate and receipt of payment
10. Evidence of change of name (If applicable)
11. Birth certificate
12. Declaration/ Oath
13. Endorsed A-I-T Log Book
