What is the ICAN Financial Members List?

ICAN publishes the FML to show which chartered accountants are financially current with the Institute. Being on the list confirms a member has met their subscription obligations for the period. Each entry shows the member’s serial number, membership number (for example, MB000013), full name, and membership grade — FCA (Fellow) or ACA (Associate), with a few RA (retired) members.

How to use this tool

  • Search by surname or first name. Names are stored as “SURNAME, First names”, so typing a surname is the quickest way to find someone.
  • Search by membership number. Enter the full or partial number, e.g. MB000013 or just 000013.
  • Results update as you type (after two characters). Large result sets are paginated — use the Prev/Next buttons to move through them.

FCA vs ACA: what the grades mean

ACA stands for Associate Chartered Accountant — the grade awarded on qualifying. FCA stands for Fellow Chartered Accountant, a senior grade ICAN confers on members after a number of years of continuous, active, and financially up-to-date membership. RA indicates a retired member.
