How to Delete Indeed Account 2024
Delete Indeed Account – Indeed is one of the most popular job search engines in the world. It began operations in 2004. This post will show you how to delete or close your Indeed account if you are no longer interested in using it.
There are two ways to delete an Indeed account. You can either close your Indeed account or permanently delete it by deleting your personal data.
The first option is closing your account, and by doing so, you’ll lose access to the following: Assessments, Saved jobs, Job application history, Saved job searches, and Job preferences. However, the second option will delete your Indeed data and close your account. The choice is yours.
Deleting your personal data will also delete your account and any associated information, such as your resume and application history. You will also no longer receive messages sent to an Indeed alias linked to your account.
Additionally, if you would like to delete a job application, you must contact the prospective employer directly. Indeed cannot delete job applications on your behalf.
Option One: Close Your Indeed Account
Tip: Review the Communications settings. Unsubscribe from any unwanted emails and notifications before closing your account.
Here is the step-by-step guide on how to close your Indeed account:
- Open Indeed and then log in to your account.
- Click or tap the profile icon. From the drop-down menu, click or tap Settings.
- Scroll down and click or tap the Close my account button. This link is located below your email address.
- Complete the optional account closure survey; select the reason why you’re closing your account.
- Now, click or tap Close my account. That’s it; your Indeed account is now closed. Please note that this action can’t be reversed.
Option Two: Delete Your Indeed Data
Tip: We recommend requesting a copy of your data before you delete your Indeed account.
Here is the step-by-step guide on how to permanently delete your Indeed account:
- Open Indeed and then log in to your account.
- Click or tap the profile icon. From the drop-down menu, click or tap Settings.
- On the Settings page, click or tap Privacy Settings.
- On the Privacy Settings page, scroll down to the Accessing and Deleting My Data section. Carefully read the information in that section.
- You will see: To access or delete your data held by Indeed, just fill out this form. Click or tap on the word form right there (highlighted in blue).
- Then, you will be taken to the Personal Data Request form page. Please carefully fill out the form and submit your request.
- Once you submit your request, check your email inbox. Indeed will email you a receipt to verify that you’re the account holder. Please, when you receive an email from Indeed, click the prompt to finish deleting your account.
- After successful verification, Indeed will go ahead and delete your account.
Note: While your request is pending deletion, you will not be able to create a new account using the designated email or phone number. Once account deletion is successfully completed, you can choose to create a new account using the designated email or phone number.
