ICAN Study Packs: Official Study Texts for All 15 Subjects

ICAN publishes official study packs (study texts) free of charge for all 15 subjects across the Foundation, Skills and Professional levels — and every download link below goes straight to the PDF on icanig.org, ICAN’s website. The current base set is the 2025 study texts written for the new syllabus (effective from the November 2025 diet), with updated 2026 editions already released for five subjects. All 20 links verified working as of August 2026.

Study texts teach the material; for exam practice pair each subject with its past questions from the ICAN Pathfinder archive.

Which edition should you use?

Start with the 2025 study text for your subject — that is the full new-syllabus text. Where a 2026 edition exists (Corporate and Business Law, Taxation, Public Sector Accounting and Finance, Strategic Business Reporting, Advanced Taxation), prefer it: these five subjects carry the most frequent legislative and standards changes, which is why ICAN refreshed them first. Either way, confirm against the current ICAN syllabus (PDF) that your text covers every topic listed for your paper.

How to use a study pack effectively

A study text alone rarely gets anyone through a diet. The pattern that works: read the study text chapter by chapter against the syllabus grid, then drill the matching Pathfinder past questions under exam timing, and only re-read chapters where the suggested solutions expose a gap. Check the exam timetable early so your revision plan ends a full week before the first paper, and read each subject’s scope in the Foundation or Skills syllabus before you start.

ATSWA study packs

Sitting the technicians exam instead? ATSWA has its own materials — see our ATSWA study packs page. Note the new ATSWA syllabus takes effect with the September 2026 diet (22–23 September 2026).

Frequently asked questions

Are ICAN study packs free?

Yes. ICAN publishes its official study texts free on icanig.org, and every link on this page points directly to those PDFs. You do not need to buy them from third-party vendors.

Do the study packs cover the new syllabus?

Yes — the 2025 study texts were written for the new syllabus that took effect from the November 2025 diet (4 Foundation, 6 Skills and 5 Professional papers), and the 2026 editions update five of those subjects further.

Are study packs enough to pass ICAN exams?

They cover the examinable content, but pass rates favour candidates who combine them with past questions. Work through the Pathfinder for your level after each study-text chapter.

Is there a study pack for every subject?

Yes — all 15 subjects across the three levels have an official 2025 study text, and Corporate and Business Law, Taxation, Public Sector Accounting and Finance, Strategic Business Reporting and Advanced Taxation also have a 2026 edition.
